Shop Tour

I decided to build up a metal shop in my basement after attempting to make a cell phone holder for my Audi A3.  The project involved making a shaped plate out of 1/16" plastic which would be held onto the front console by the air vents (see more about this in the 'Projects' menu item).  The shape was simple enough to do with a Dremel but soon turned to disaster; and frustration turned to action.
Time for a shop!

It started out in Sept 2014 with some general purchases of a drill press, tool box, etc but quickly moved into more serious effort once a taste of what can be accomplished in a small shop dawned on me.  My overall working space is approximately 18'x13' with another adjacent area for storage of ~15'x13'.  The room is the basement and has a direct door into the garage which is nice for moving equipment into the area.

That's about it.  Doesn't look like much but gets the job done so far.  Of course each project seems to add one or two more pieces.  I'll post a list of the items including what's in the tool boxes with purchase location and price.  You'll see a CNC Router in the picture above/left which you can view more of from the menu "CNC Router Build' - have a look and leave a comment.
